Donyale aka Cherry D. Stonewall (the D is for Dopa-licious) - Donyale has been asking for a long time to be down with the SLAM EVIL! crew. She is normally a quiet laid back person. Doesn’t speak out much but will drop a hammer of knowledge a’la Silent Bob style. She works for the Sonic Boom of the South aka Jackson State University’s Marching Band also getting her sexy ass Master’s Degree.
I got two more I have to do. I’ve been lazy this week. Peaches McQueen with Dooku Maximus and someone else are the next ones. Promise.

10 years?

Yes My 10 year high school reunion is coming up soon. Like Next year. Wow 10 years. How did I get reminded of this? Well, JSU had homecoming this weekend and I ran into an old friend, Hey Dedra, at Seven* studioz. She was amazed at how i looked and had dreads now. (which are hot.. ladies.. eh.. ladies.) She then asked me if I was going to the reunion. Unlike the character Mike (left) seems to be happy about it. I’m more like Willie J. (right) on the matter. After she asked me I turned around and played like I was walking off. She said, “don’t be like that. I’m going.” “Well, I haven’t decided yet.”, I replied.

The reason I haven’t decided yet is “do I really want to see all these people after 10 years?” I mean there are a few people that I wish I knew what they were doing. In the end it’s just something that most people holding on the caste system of high school. You know the dorks, nerds, jocks, geeks and popular kids. I wonder if such and such is still a Dork? I wonder if mister sports is working at Starbucks? It becomes a way of measuring your change. I have changed from high school but in a weekend of events they won’t be able to see the real me. They will see this image of Ken from 10 years ago with dreads and with all the 10-12 years we spent together. So, I may just go just so I can see how horribly my other classmates have aged or to catch up with people who at one time i was close to but lost contact with. I hoping the latter. (also Ken has gotten Fffffaaaattt… haha)

Last year

This is an old piece from about this time last year I did for a friend’s birthday. Her birthday is on the 3rd if you don’t hear from me happy birthday. I never posted it so you get to see me a year ago. I didn’t really spend much time on it nor did I have a good photo reference of her. It was from my freakin camera phone. I took the photo very stealthy. That’s right thats me as Doctor Emmett Brown on the flyer with 7even:Thirty as Marty McFly. Only we could pull this off. This is my Favorite movie trilogies ever and on my personal top 5 movies of all time. I want to thank Tim Avery at Avery Photography for taking the photos for all the posters we did for this event. Tim had fun shooting this stuff and we did also. I’ll never show the original Venom and Myself as dock. Maybe next week I’ll show some behind the scenes of the photo shot.

7even:Thirty will be rocking the mic and who knows maybe a few special guest.  Maybe we can’t say right now.

Guillaume and myself ventured down to the French Quarter by ourselves. I went to the Black Heritage gallery and bought another print. I helped him search for a photography shop called the “Dark Room” I can’t believe this place had the famed Ninja turtle address of like 286 1/2 Bouborn St. We couldn’t find it. It jumped from 286 to 288.

Well, on Sept 27 Michael Bell got bail and now is out of jail. He will also be tried as a juvenile now and no longer an adult. If convicted he will be held in a Juvenile detention center until he is 18. How much you want to beat that we are going to forget about this now.

Stopped by this nice little coffee shop down in the Quarter.

It was decided by Mary, Cocky, Venom and Assata that they were getting Tattoos. Cocky want some kinda star. Assata and Mary had no idea what they wanted.

Sadly, Venom was the only one to get Ink. Leo is in the house. The ones who didn’t get one went to the Hattiesburg tattoo shop and yet again didn’t get one.

Back to the Quarter. Cocky and I refused to go into a shop with the women because some guy was dressed like a woman. A very creepy large woman.

This is probably the second time in my life seeing Bananas growing from a tree. I’m so southern.

We look for a Fortune teller shop because Assata and Venom didn’t want to get there fortune told in front of the church. haha. No luck.

Saturday night Back in Hattiesburg

Chef B-Boy-R-Dee aka DJ Venom prepared us a meal. Now get this. Venom has cooked not once but twice for us went we all are in a big group. Hopefully this trend will continue in the future. Plus he can cook. He says the special ingredient is the T-Mobile Sidekick 3.

At the Concert these Q93 people took photos of people at the show. Kerry got home and had to look himself up. “LOOK AT ME I’M THE INTERNETS.”

Pasta, Meat, Peppers. I had to cook the Turkey Sausage for him. I can cook too. Also Cocky and gang, Clean your burners. I could have burned the house down and it not being my fault. This time.

I hate hot sauce because what is the point of putting too much of something on food to kill the flavor. I don’t understand hot sauce. I heard that we as black people are genetically alter to love this stuff. Hot sauce + Popcorn = pretty good. But you don’t see me sneaking into the theatres with me. I do know people who do. (sad)

Uh uh. Venom does make his own sauce. RAGU?

Merc B! came home to a happy plate of spagetti. It was good to see old Merc B! happy. Sadly the ladies had to leave with Assata heading to Houston to see a friend and Mary having a Saturday class. (A CLASS ON SATURDAY CRAZY)

Saturday

Venom and I go to Hudson Salvage Center because we like cheap crap. I found the most offensive Self portrait of the Ugly Poet every. HAHAHA

This is just pure Racism. They hold a like a whole shelf full of these. I think I cried a little.

Venom had to DJ a wedding in Hattiesburg. We had to scout out the location because neither of us knew were it was.

The house was on some BALLIN stuff.

We talked to people at the wedding. No one asked us who were were or anything. Funny. We are going to crazy a wedding again very soon.

They danced to the soldier boy or whatever. This one bridesmaid was like queen of the club. She was pretty nice to look at but had too much energy.

Venom + booze = DJ bliss. This is the DJ scrap dirty key to life.

We got back to the apartment and order wings. That’s right Wings. This is She’la holding Guillaume’s ketchup. That’s right WE GOT IT!

Sunday

We went to the mall and it was pretty boring after that.

When we made it back to my car it wouldn’t start. I thought my starter was going out and after the crap that happened before the trip I remembered “shit rolls down hill” So I was not happy. Turns out after a jump from Guillaume after he gets off from work that it was my battery.  Venom and I didn’t leave Hattiesburg until 9 pm.  It was a good trip man.  Good friends and Reggie (haha)

On a sad note, this was the last trip of the summer because Sunday was the official start of Autumn or Fall which ever you want to call them.  Skipp coon is getting married this weekend so after the photos for that I will also do a double shot of my brother and his new wife because I still haven’t post anything about that.

Dorrell aka Popeye “the Champ” Jenkins.  My best friend in probably all of the world until I find that Spider-man exists.  It’s sad that it took me so long to do one of him.  Believe me he has been asking like crazy.  I’m glad he got a new codename because his last one was just hard to pronounce.   It’s was his name backwards.    He’s the Champ because he destroys his nephews in Smash Bros.  They have belts and everything.

Marques aka 7even:thirty.  That’s right, he can really produce Anti Matter and create stars.  His CD is running in my iPod alot lately.  If you haven’t picked it up. Now is the time over at iTunes.  He has been SLAMMING EVIL for a long time.   Known him since college and his beautiful wife Tori.  Ya’lls hasin a baby.

Jamila aka Nefertiti Strongarm.  Jamila is one of the people I knew back at Jackson State during my younger years.  Past few months we have been in contact with each other sharing our craziness and unbalance behavior.  I just gave her the codename yesterday.  She lives in Atlanta so when the SE! agents plan a trip up there she will most definitely be hanging with the crew and being our tour guide because I don’t know Atlanta well and only been like 3 times in my life.

In other news.  I got to get my car fixed.  Hopefully it won’t cost over 300 bucks.  It has something to do with my electrical computer that works my transmission and not the Transmission itself.  The TransAxle system by Mazda is said to be one of the best in the biz.  Probably have to replace the oxygen sensors on them finally.  Sigh and the Band played on.

The Roots, MC Lyte, Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie will be performing down in New Orleans on the 20th.  Guillaume, Cocky McFly (please believe it), DJ Venom, and myself will be slamming all kinds of evil in New Orleans.  5th Child will hopefully link up but he said he will be in Jena, Louisiana that day.  If you haven’t hear about the Jena Six links are right here. For video search Youtube.com.  One of the worst acts against Civil Rights of people in a long while.  Small southern towns I swear.

SLAMEVIL.org is up! The SLAM EVIL! movement has started. DJ Venom, the Ugly Poet, Baloo, Guillaume Dolorean and myself recorded our first podcast last Wednesday and posted it Friday morning. We can be found on the iTunes music store if you search SLAM EVIL. It’s under podcast or you can just click this

We will try to record one every week. We record on Wednesday night and try to post it Thursday or Friday. DJ Venom does a 20 minute mix at the end of the show which he will try to keep this up. He has a lot on his plate getting the background music and everything else. But as long a 3 members are on we will always be recording. So it’s an hour and 35 minutes and hour and 12 of us talking. We recorded the second last night.
We want to heard from the community on this so leave a comment on the page if there is a topic or something we can fix about the show.

Now, when I think Chicken on a stick, i think Music all the way because of the line drawn between Chicken and Music. Why did they link these dipping sauces to music I will never know. Probably to get in with the young crowd with the marketing. I didn’t see one for BBQ so I can only amuse it was Rhythm and BBQ or something corny like that.

On the Art front.

I’m lazy right now. I’m working on customizing a guitar for a friend and a few painting but nothing I want to show until it’s finished or when I feel like it. The SLAM EVIL! portraits will keep coming but slowly because it’s now VIDEO GAME season. I’ll be starting off with BioShock today and next week Metroid Prime 3. So goodbye art for a while hello useless accomplishments.
