Yes, I have killed a Predator.  (Thanks buddy bogus.)  Okay, not really, but cut my dreadlocks.  Almost 10 years of me growing my hair.  Started growing it my 2nd semester of my first year of college.  Reasons I cut it:  It was long as you can see from the photos, I am suffering from male pattern baldness (nothing sadder than a guy with no hair on the top and long locks, and It was time for a change.

Hellboy II: Golden Army  B+

It was like Iron man but with more interesting characters.  Now this is a fun movie.  It doesn’t really take itself serious but also has Pacing problems.  I felt like a rush to the finish line never the end of the movie.  They are giving the gold ticket to find the Golden Army.  Which, I really didn’t like.  Troll Market equals cool.  Overall as fun as hell.

The Dark Knight: A

The Good.

It’s a pretty good movie. It’s like crime drama in Superhero drag.  It’s to wong fu mixed with Godfather. HA. The characters were interesting. Heath deserve an Oscar or a nomination for this and not for dying.  It’s going to be hard because fall/winter are the Oscars seasons for drama and such.  If he is nominated he will probably be surrounding by other high caliber performances.  The fall of the white knight was good and didn’t fell tacked on. (I’m looking at you VENOM in Spider-man 3.) Everyone gave strong performances, all but Michael Cain, who I felt was phoning it in.
Also something this movie doesn’t get much praise for is it’s lack of CG puppetry.  I want you to look at movies like Iron man or Spider-man you see they have powers and tons of CG effects.  Batman has no powers but still blows up #@#$ like John McClane on a Good day.  So thumbs of for more traditional stunt work.  It’s some moments in the movie with CG but not many.  Well there is Two face but I think it was more of the Eye and the jaw area than the full face.  But he’s in like the last 30 minutes.

The way that Christopher Nolan is going with these movies, realism, I don’t think we will be seeing villains like Clayface and Posion Ivy.  Clayface who I thought was lame as hell. Boo hoo you’re face is ruin.   He suffers from the Venom Sydrome. Whats that?  Well Venom hates Peter Parker in the comic, that’s his one motivation because he “ruined” his life.  Dude, Spidey has given you like a hundred trys to get your life back and what do you do?  Try to kill my family friends.  GET THE #@$# over it.

I would like to see the Riddler because he is probably the only Batman villian that can match wits with the detective side. Also they did highlight Batman’s detective skills in this one with the ballistic test and so on.

The Bad. (just funny things)
The Batman voice.  Come on really. I was cracking up on the inside everytime he talked. It’s like me doing “my spooky voice” but trying to be serious.  Bruce Wayne is still lame as ever, wait he’s the disguise.

The Joker at Bruce’s party.  He distracts Batman with the classic damsel in distress move, but what happen when he was left in the penthouse alone?  Did he kill people? Did he keep searching for Dent? Did he take jewels? I think he just has his goons steal the Fine cheeses that Bruce had around.  I can see Batman screaming, “DAMN YOU JOKER, THAT WAS MOOSE CHEESE! IT’S $500 A POUND!”

Batman’s reckless disregard for Dogs and OPP.  Okay, Batman killed like 4 dogs in this movie.  I get it Batman hates Dogs.  Why did I say Batman hates OPP (other people’s property or something else)?  Look at the scene with the Tumbler (batmoblie) He is running over cars not giving a rat’s ass about anyone when he’s after the Joker.  Then on the Bat Pod, he just shooting grenades at parked cars when people could be in it.  How the hell does he know?  Plus there were two little kids sitting there watching this, What if they were in one of those cars?  Like the mom just so happen to run in the store then come out to find her kids burning because of Batman’s pursuit of Justice.  Batman is heartless against Gas prices.  You don’t have to pay for it if your car is on fire, do ya?

Batman’s cell phone sonar?  I get it.  He’s got this whole Bat motif going.  Come on using everyone cell phones seems a little far fetched.  Pulling a George Bush.   Batman breaks another rule of OPP. This time meaning Other People’s Privacy.  You think I want my dirty phone messages to a Chinese hooker need to be over heard by Morgan Freeman?  NO.

To all parents don’t take your kids to see this movie.  It will give them nightmares.  If you don’t have the time to research a movie you don’t have time to take your kid to the theatre.  I swear there were like 8 year olds in this movie because it’s Batman how can it be bad for little Timmy.  The joker was doing stuff we found funny but at the level is very distrubing. Two Face had kids crying.  Batman’s dickery jumps to new heights.  This is not your normal super-hero romps.

Also Batman is still blaming others for his problems…

Born at 7:26 am.  Daughter of Shakina and Jack Patterson II.  My niece Kendal aka Dirtbike.  a healthy baby girl, in yo face FRANCE!

My bro holding his daughter and just in love from first sight.  I guess first sight love thing exist.   Shakina did not want to take a photo of her.  I mean she just had a baby, how would you look?  Really?

If you notice the names have on difference.  They dropped an “L”  So pretty much she is less of a Loser than I. Ha.

Congrats to them both.  Now big sister, MacKENize (c wht i did ther?) will have someone to tell she can’t tag along when she hit 16 and dirtbike is only 11.

A friend was telling me this story Wednesday night about his married friend. His wife pulled this move on him. I’ve seen this happen with all the women around me. Not all the women in the world. You offer up something they say no. Then when you are about to enjoy it. BAM! They ask for a part of it. Why do they do this? I guess in most of their brains tell them “I’m trying to lost weight and snacking is bad.” Maybe it’s not a full meal if you eat 2/3 of my food. I’m hungry damn it. I have never asked for someones food not since i was a kid which was pretty much legal. If it’s offered thats a huge difference. Why do you do it? If you wanted something you could have said it or said “hey can we share something.” Then I would answer back twos. 1. sure. 2. No, I’m really hungry.
Don’t worry The h.e.r.b.e.r.t. unit will be back. I don’t know why I named it after the ugly poet, I just thought of Herbie the robot from Fantastic four and Herb mixing into this soon to be wise computer. I promise I won’t do a 2001: Space Odyssey parody of me shutting down h.e.r.b. like the guy did Hal.

In life news.

No, I didn’t get anyone knocked up. Thats a 4D photo in the womb of my new Niece, which shall be only known as “Dirtbike”, will be coming in around late June/July. Kendall Nicole Patterson, yes sadly she is unfortunate to share the first name of her Uncle (ME). I’m kinda getting excited now. Sure, Roadhouse (I give dumb nicknames) is also my niece and I love her too, but nothing like that fresh baby smell. I’m not going to ignore her when I come out to their house because Jack and Shakina will have there hands full. I’ll be taking her to see Wall-E around when the baby is born. Am I taking her or is she taking me? A child leading a child. Whichever the case, I’ll love them both.

Happy birthday to Coltrane is now a 1 year old. Insane. Poor kid got his hair cut.

Sorry the comic is a little late. The funny thing is I wrote 3 different comics last week and never could get to the last little punchline. This is the one I finished writing. Sadly the only two will be sitting in my sketch book waiting for the holy grail of last panels.

Blu & Exile Below the Heavens - I’ve been listening to this again which i picked up like in November. I would listen to it off and on, here and there. Pretty good album solid lyrics and the production is really good.

I personally have something against online social networking but I can’t stay off them. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t. So, if you are a friend and you are inviting me to different social networking place that aren’t the top two (myspace, facebook) I won’t be setting up a new account somewhere else. To be honest, I’m really not as active as most of my friends on those things. I’ll change a photo barely once a month or add something to my already outdated info. My blogs on both are automated from my rss feed here. I may comment on your wall or whatever once a month or not at all. I don’t see how guys pick up women on these things. Maybe they can see how vain most women are if they have tons of photos of themselves up, they have low self esteem or “they just want to have fun.” I’m not saying that all women are myspace are vain just a few. But my friend request got to an alarming 30 a day from the Whore Spam bots. Once I turned up my friend request I have got none. I think it’s so high up that my friends can’t even send me a friend request. haha.

The comic above is how I feel most of the time during the work week. Notice I don’t eat breakfast supposedly the most important meal of the day. SUPPOSEDLY! I usually get piece of toast and bottle of water or a quick shot of cranberry juice to the head. KNOCK OUT PUNCH!

I went to a Beauty Pageant at Mississippi College with Angie on Tuesday night. Look I know, It’s not something that I would normally or ever attend unless I was asked. We were kinda upset that Arian didn’t even place out of 6 girls. She was looking fierce like a lioness ready to attack. Arian you still did great if you are reading this. If you’re not sucks to be you.

STEAM.gutterspaced.com presents the five stages of grief. This is just for laughs but she was pissed about it as I’m sure she would be pissed about this post… if she read my blog weekly.

Denial was the first after she she heard the results of the contest. “I can’t believe she didn’t place.”

Anger
Angie was pretty mad Arian didn’t win. She kept angrily saying “I can’t believe she didn’t place. This is some Bull#@$%, Kendall.” Oddly enough she calls me Kendall all the time. She slipped up like twice in the whole time I’ve know her.

Depression
“I’m sad she didn’t place. I’m sad for her.”

Bargaining
“I wish she would have won. It would have been greatness.”

Acceptance
Finally got over it. That is until the we got back to the Car. HAHA.

They had a live band playing Swing music which was pretty good. I wish they didn’t do songs I’ve heard a thousand times from random movies or cheap knock off cds. They sound good but just wish they would have done some more big band type stuff. Pretty cool to see them live but man New Orleans street performers could rock these guys faces. Also maybe because they were at Mississippi College that they couldn’t wild out.
Fun night out, really pick up from the crappy day I was having earlier that day at work. Not really going to into that, but I’m still standing and moving forward.

I “SLAM EVIL!” ALL YEAR!! EVER YEAR!!

Here is an update on my 2007 goals.

1. Do more art shows outside of Jackson in bigger cities like Atlanta, New York, Chicago, Cali and other places doesn’t matter where really.
2. Get online print store running.
3. Release first Art book.
4. Get better at doing Art shows at Seven*. (I’m not perfect.)
5. Release Confused Minds graphic novel.
6. Not to take my time here for granted and touch as many people with my words or my art as possible. Nothing is promised.
7. Travel More. Don’t care where. Just go.
8. Don’t fail yourself.

Number 3 is still going to do it when I’m really to do it.
Number 4, I can’t do because I won’t be doing anymore art shows at Seven* studioz.
Number 5, I am working on it right now. Still doodling up pages but have yet to scan and start vectorizing.
Number 8, I can’t failed myself because I never gave up. Even when the odds were against me.
I look forward to the new year. New Adventures, New Friends, New art, and New everything. I will be making a new list soon. I will hopefully be in a book coming out next year. I will keep you posted if everything goes thru. The “Other Heroes” show will be at Brooklyn community college in early 2008 and probably in Africa (that’s right Africa) in Mid 2008. I will also be in the “out of Sequence show late 2008. It’s looking exciting for me next year already art wise. I will see if I can get some magazine illustration jobs. I have a pretty good Portfolio now to push forward. Wish me luck.

Here is the last digital drawing of 2007.  I have been off work since the 21 and won’t report back until the 2th of next year.  I haven’t done anything. Like anything.   See ya next year on 1/7/08.
