Back again with another “Artists that I like” Post. It’s said that you can’t really find many artist doing what you really love. I don’t have a ton of artist I just like, but I will show some that I just love. Some are influences and some are not. Part one is here

Mike Thompson - The art director for Ecko’s t-shirt company. He started out just doing painting for the t-shirt but now he’s a commercial illustrator and does tons of stuff for Vibe, Slam, XXL, Infiniti Motors and many more clients. The first piece is one from a Coke Campaign from 2000 or so. The second was going to be the cover for Hi-Tek new Cd but they decided to go with a super wack one. Yeah Hi-Tek your cover was wack. The amazing thing is that he works digital sometimes and traditional paint sometimes. It’s sometimes hard to tell which is which. Secret is to notice the colors.

Deseo One - One of the underground best keep secrets. I remember on DA, he loved my Soul Sista print and funny years later I discovered him on myspace and hit him up. He’s a digital artist like me. Buy some of his prints, I’m ordering the Samurai girl print when i get back from New Orleans. He is working on some natural media stuff that i can’t wait to see.

Tadahiro Uesugi - I don’t know were I discovered him but I was just surfing Gallery Nucleus site and came across him. Very dope illustrator. I am also buying the 3 Trees book.
Linkage

Saxton “Sack 10″ Moore - I don’t know much but I do like his stuff and his Throwback Thursday were he take an old cartoon character and puts his signatures style into them.

Blogage

Roberto “Briteshine aka RobG” Goring- One of the King of Brush making. This dude inspired me to go digital and keep trying. I hope one day I would be a master craftsman like him.

Ashliegh “Pyawakit” Firth - I meet Py back on the internet (before it was called the internets) like in 2005 I think. When I saw her work I feel in love with it. It was a bunch of sketches of her character Postal. He characters have so much life in the face. I haven’t talked to her much lately because she’s busy and has a ton of work to it. If you want to see talent then you need to check her out and buy some of her prints.

Jeff Soto - Crazy painter from L.A. I remember I saw his work in an MTV magazine. It was like a digital war piece with robotic iPods and Cell phones.

Francisco “Pacman23″ Perez - Around the time I launched gutterspaced.com back in 2003. (wow 2003) I met an artist named Pacman23. He was just insanely talented so I offered him hosting on my site, for free, to this day he is still on here. (he also never updates his gallery. but I haven’t in a while either.) I’ll let his work speak for itself and go and buy his prints because I have the second image (wow that’s from 2005? Paco come on man) in my office at work.

Fabian “Monk” Schlaga - This kid stays in the picture. This kid is like under 21 one and already has tons of published work. He has dropped his amazing colors on many pros work. I want to show off his personal work more than his client work. The second one I have on my wall at work also.

Well I have to save some for next update. I will be in New Orleans for Feb 22 and 23 for The Legendary Roots crew and Lupe Fiasco. Slam Evil! Travel next week. Later.
